Travel Week With Network Dads – 1 Family Travel Insurance
When Frank Stark said “To awaken alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world” I’m sure he wasn’t referring to the countless parents around the world that enjoying taking their families on fantastic travels.
One quote that best sums up what travel can be like with little ones is this:
“The man who goes alone can start today; but he who travels with another must wait till that other is ready.” – Henry David Thoreau
This week is Travel Week on networkdads.com, where I will be sharing some great articles and resources from great parent bloggers out there.

The opportunity to impart your love of travel, to experience different cultures, try new foods, meet new friends and come closer together as a family is one not to be missed.
Whether it’s a road trip across the state, or a multi-stop cruise across the oceans, or flights across the globe, travelling with kids can be challenging and rewarding.
Family Travel Insurance
Our first article for the week is to do with Travel #Insurance. For any family considering a trip away, travel insurance is a must! From lost luggage, to lost documents, stolen wallets, or cameras, the last thing anyone wants is to have their travels interrupted by unforeseen events.
But this would be nothing compared to the stress and angst they would go through if they did not have travel insurance; or worse having paid for insurance only to find that they do not have adequate coverage because they did not understand the exclusions within their policy.
Do you travel regularly?
Are you in the midst of planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip?
Then Travel Insurance should be high up in your list of priorities amongst all of your travel arrangements.
But how well do you understand your Travel Insurance Policy?
Before taking out any travel insurance it pays to be aware of some of the hidden traps, and therefore avoiding the possibility of finding yourself without cover. The ways in which some of these clauses or fine print can lead to your cover becoming void are many and varied.
When you are spending your hard earned money on a vacation, you typically don’t account and budget extra for bumps in the road….. but almost every trip has unplanned expenses that come up.
If there is one thing that you should absolutely invest in when travelling overseas, it is travel insurance. I truly believe that if you can’t afford travel insurance, then you can’t afford to travel.
I always get travel insurance when I travel. For as little as $2.50 USD a day, it’s the most important thing you hope you’ll never need. After all, we get home insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and car insurance. Getting travel insurance is the same thing. You want to protect yourself against the unforeseen.
Thank you, and remember if you have a great #family travel article hidden away in the archives of your blog, feel free to add it to the comments below and I shall add it to the list to be shared this week.
To end, here is a great quote by Mark Twain:
“Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain
